Restaurant with wine cellar

Restaurant with wine cellar

When I captured this photograph of the interior of a restaurant with a wine bar, my goal was to capture the essence and atmosphere of the space, highlighting both its architectural design and the experience it offers. Below, I share my approach and the technical decisions I made when making this image:

Composition: I chose a composition that took advantage of the converging lines of the wine shelves and the ceiling, seeking to create a sense of depth that would guide the viewer's gaze through the space. I wanted to highlight the symmetry of the place, using perspective to emphasize the architectural structure of the restaurant, which is key in interior photography.

Lighting: Lighting was a crucial aspect in this shot. I decided to take advantage of the warm light from the ceiling, which gently reflects on the surfaces of the furniture, to create a cozy and elegant atmosphere. I made sure to control the exposure precisely, preventing highlighted areas from burning out, and maintaining a balance that highlighted both highlights and shadows. The lamps on the tables added the touch of intimacy I was looking for to make the environment feel more personal and close.

Color and Texture: As for colors, I looked for a contrast between the warm and golden tones predominating in the image and the grays and blacks of the furniture. This contrast not only provides depth, but also reinforces the feeling of warmth that I wanted to convey. Additionally, I paid special attention to capturing the textures of the stone and wood in great detail, allowing the viewer to almost feel the materiality of the space.

Architectural Details: My intention was to make the architecture of the place the protagonist of the image. I was drawn to the way the modern design of the tables and chairs integrated with rustic materials like stone and wood. I wanted to capture that aesthetic balance, highlighting both the functionality and beauty of the restaurant's interior design.

In short, this photograph seeks more than to document the space; My intention was to communicate the atmosphere and experience the restaurant offers through balanced composition, warm lighting, and careful attention to architectural details.
