CIFAL MÁLAGA, CLOSURE OF THE XVI STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING
From November 10 to 13, the XVI Steering Committee Meeting. These conferences began in Madrid with the presence of the president of the Board of Directors of UNITAR and ambassador of Algeria in Spain, Taous Feroukhi, from the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of UNITAR, Nikhil Seth and Alex Mejia, director of the UNITAR Decentralized Cooperation Program and head of the CIFAL Network, among other personalities.
These conferences were closed in Malaga. The Secretary General of Foreign Action of the Junta de Andalucía, J. Enric Millo, intervened at the closing of the meeting of directors of CIFAL centers of the UNITAR agency in Malaga. Said act was also attended by Nikhil Seth, from the mayor of Málaga, Francisco De la Torre and Alex Mejia. The days of the "CIFAL Global Network XVI Steering Committee Meeting" concluded with a farewell dinner at the Automobile and Fashion Museum of Malaga in recognition of the extremely important work that each headquarters of CIFAL is done.
The United Nations Institute for Training and Research ( UNITAR) is an institution of the United Nations system dedicated to training that was created in 1963. The main functions of UNITAR and its training bodies CIFAL (International Center for Training of Authorities and Leaders) are to provide high-quality learning solutions, advise and support governments with various knowledge services, facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences through networks and innovative processes, etc...
Malaga began its collaboration with the United Nations 2009.
It consists of 19 associated training centers (CIFAL) distributed throughout the world, among which are CIFAL Madrid and CIFAL Malaga, the latter becoming a reference in southern Europe and northern Africa.
CIFAL Malaga Among other functions, it organizes courses, seminars, master's degrees through face-to-face and virtual training where issues related to social inclusion, governance, economic and tourism development, etc. will be addressed. It will also act as a center for the exchange of knowledge between government officials , non-governmental and international organizations from the private sector, academic institutions and the UN system. Training programs will also be presented in key areas included in the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda.
